Core Virtues
We lead by example and expect our virtues to guide our behaviours with each other and anyone we interact with.
We live by these core virtues:
Truthful
We look for the facts. We are aware of our assumptions, and that we don’t know everything. We lean on each other to gain context and understanding. If we don’t know something, we express it openly. We are thoughtful and considerate in our thoughts and actions. We express thanks and gratitude. In moments of confusion, we seek context and rationale, and we control our emotions. We don’t shy away from confrontation – as we see it as an opportunity to be objective truth seekers.
Accountable
We build trust with transparency with those around us, and we ensure that we are equally deserving of trust. We hold ourselves to a high standard of conduct and are accountable for our actions. We act with integrity and decency. We own our work and what we’ve signed up for. We don’t let the team down, instead we inform the team and rely on them when we need help.
Industrious
We take pride in what we do. We deliver quality over quantity. We take our time to plan, gather input and consider our options before making a move. This doesn’t mean we are slow, it means we believe in doing the hard work to put our best foot forward. We work as a team to build consensus and to achieve a shared outcome–it’s not about who “wins”, it’s about winning together. We pool resources and skill sets to achieve our shared goals. When someone asks for help, we are ready and willing. We are not afraid to fail – we seek to measure our risks and learn from mistakes. We adapt and iterate each time. We are patient with ourselves and others.
